The Lady Bears took to the court last week as they spent a little bit of their Thanksgiving week holiday taking on Paschal. The game was held at Brewer Middle School since the gym at the high school was being refinished.
An early turnover spree put the Lady Bears in the hole, but they tried to make up for it with a pressure defense. They were within 6 points halfway through the first, but their inability to get rebounds saw the game getting away from them rapidly.
Paschal out rebounded Brewer by a large margin, getting three and four shots per possession while the Lady Bears rarely had more than one attempt on their possessions. The shots they did get off refused to fall, and Paschal went on a huge run from the middle of the first to the end of the second.
During this time, Paschal outscored Brewer 31 – 3, putting the Lady Bears well behind heading into the second half. The score was Paschal 42, Brewer 10 at halftime.
The team continued to fight hard, but the big lead Paschal had built up proved too much for the Lady Bears to overcome. They lost the game by a final score of 67 – 24.
