The ESC Region XI board of trustees recently agreed to move forward with the purchase of the Sam’s Club building located on Cherry Lane in White Settlement. They plan on closing on that purchase before the holidays. Meanwhile, the service center is waiting to see what type of offer they will receive from TxDOT on their current property located along I-35 in north Fort Worth. TxDOT is expanding the highway in that location.

The center will be moving into the design phase of planning for the new facility to provide office space as well as professional development accommodations that will best suit the needs of area school districts.

“As you know, we feel this will be a big step in revitalizing the Cherry Lane corridor and will also be a huge benefit for our community, our

staff, and our children,” said WSISD Board President Randy Armstrong. “I am truly excited about something positive happening in this geographic area of our community.”

The service center will formally vote on this item at its Dec. 10 meeting.
