In a letter to parents, Lake Worth ISD announced that it would utilize a “weather day” on Friday, Dec. 21 and cancel classes for the day in all of its schools. The letter referenced parental concerns and the “need for some immediate time away from school in light of recent national events.”
Earlier in the week, a staff member found a note at Lake Worth High School suggesting that a bomb might be in the school. The campus was locked down while police and fire personnel checked the building. Nothing was found.
School will resume on Tuesday, January 8, 2013.
