It took just a few minutes for the White Settlement City Council to work through their agenda last Thursday evening. City Secretary Amy Arnold read the vote totals of the recent runoff election, as Danny Anderson received 439 votes to defeat incumbent Paul Moore who received 311 votes.
A motion was made to canvass the votes and declare the returns, and that motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Jerry Burns presented a certificate of election to Anderson. The oath of office ceremony for Anderson will be held at the Jan. 8 council meeting, after which he’ll take his seat on the council.
Council member Mike Arnold congratulated Anderson on his victory.
“It’s good to be back,” Anderson responded.
With no further business on the agenda, the meeting was adjourned. Earlier in the evening, council member Gene Hatcher led the council and those present in a prayer for the victims of the tragedy in Connecticut.
