Rain will be on the increase across North Texas tonight as a system moves across the area. The heaviest precipitation will probably fall late tonight and into the morning hours on Monday. Light rain will fall first, and then a stronger band of precipitation will perhaps move through the area during the early morning hours. Temperatures are expected to remain well above freezing, so no type of wintry precipitation is expected. New Year’s Day will be mostly cloudy and dry, but it will also be quite chilly to start 2013 with afternoon highs only in the 40s. For the most part, the entire week will be mostly cloudy and quite chilly. Afternoon highs are only expected to be in the 40s with 50s by next weekend.
