Suspects use sub-machine gun to rob Benbrook food mart

Fort Worth Police are looking for three young black males who used handguns and a sub-machine gun to rob a food mart in Benbrook. At around 8:20 p.m. on Dec. 23, two suspects entered Joe’s Food Mart  in the 8100 block of Bangor Drive in Benbrook. One suspect remained outside as a look out. The trio fled in a car similar to a black 1997 Mazda 626 four-door sedan.

The three are also suspects in a robbery just an hour earlier at the Zoom Food Mart in the 5600 block of Meadowbrook Drive.

Beer thieves caught outside local store

On Sunday, Fort Worth Police responded to a robbery call at the Fiesta Food Store in the 7800 block of Camp Bowie West around 8:20 p.m. Store security officials told police that a male and female suspect came in to the store and began concealing cans of beer and then walked out of the store without paying for the items. When confronted by security personnel, the two suspects took off running across the parking lot with one being captured by security. The female suspect was captured just a short time later after walking near the store. Both individuals were arrested.


Suspect shoots at victim in Subway robbery

On Saturday, Fort Worth Police were called to the 9000 block of Camp Bowie West around 10 p.m. where a suspect robbed the Subway sandwich shop. Reports stated that the suspect entered the store demanding money while pointing a handgun at the employees. The store employees refused to give the suspect money and he left the store. When one of the victims followed the suspect out of the store, he swung his handgun around firing one shot at the victim. No one was hit by the gunfire and the suspect fled on foot eastbound on Camp Bowie West.


WSVFD responds to backyard fire

On Sunday evening, the White Settlement Volunteer Fire Department responded to a backyard storage building fire in the 7900 block of Downe Drive. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but preliminary reports stated that the cause was due to a space heater and under rated extension cord.


CareFlite transports Benbrook burn victim

On Sunday afternoon, CareFlite transported a patient on Pebblestone Drive in Benbrook to Parkland Hospital after suffering burns in a reported kitchen fire.
