The White Settlement ISD Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of Brewer Athletic Director/Head Football Coach Paul Sharr during the regular April 23 meeting. Sharr has served in WSISD for the past five years.
“Coach Sharr awakened the students’ interests in athletics by conveying an infectious energy and excitement to be Brewer Bears,” said Superintendent Frank Molinar. “He’s had a wonderful impact on our student athletes and the White Settlement community by helping to bring back tradition and pride.”
John Hebert, assistant superintendent of curriculum, instruction and administrative services, will serve as interim athletic director, and Kord Smith, assistant head football coach/offensive coordinator, will serve as interim head football coach.
In sharing his vision for the Brewer Athletic Department, Molinar said all student athletes will be taught: self-discipline, teamwork, fairness, cooperation, competition, winning and good sportsmanship, and other valuable life skills. They will feel pride in their teams; bring honor to their school; and represent this community proudly.
“We will strive to increase participation in all of our athletic programs for our girls and boys, and we will work together to ensure that our athletes are competitive and successful.”
The WSISD Administration extends its best wishes to Coach Sharr in his future endeavors.
