Music on the Trinity helps beat the summer heat

rockin river festival

Tubing the Trinity is back, and there’s no better way to beat the Texas heat than by jumping in the Trinity River and floating up to the best seat in the house for a summer full of free concerts.

Bands performing during the Rockin’ the River Summer Tubing and Music Series at the Panther Island Pavilion include Josh Weathers, Mickey and the Motorcars and Johnny Cooper, among others.

The first concert is June 6, and the series runs through Aug. 8.

Bring your inner tube, kayak, paddle board and river float. Landlubbers can bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the concert from the shady banks of the Trinity. Pets are welcome but must remain on a leash.

Food and beverages are sold on site and no outside coolers or drinks are allowed. Six-pack coolers are available to keep your drinks chilled during your float.

Parking is at 395 Purcey St. (the old Tandy Center) and is free. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. The headliner takes the stage at 6:30 p.m. and the second act will play until 10 p.m.
