July 13 may be an off day for the Tour de Fort Worth, but Mayor Betsy Price and local cyclists will be picking up the bikes anyway for a tour of a different kind.
Experienced riders are invited to take a ride through the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base and get a view of this Fort Worth landmark from behind the handlebars.
Riders should check in at the NAS-JRB front gate, 226 Pumphrey Drive, at 8 a.m. to make sure there is plenty of time to do a bike safety check. The ride will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. Since the base is a secure facility, there will be no late admittance.
Take note of this information you’ll need:
*Bring a government-issued photo ID.
*All vehicles entering the base must have current registration, an inspection sticker and proof of insurance.
*Helmets are required to ride.
*Riders must stay with the group, and no deviation from the course will be permitted.
*Due to the length of the ride, the ride is not recommended for children.
