Late Tuesday, as temperatures headed south in preparation for the coldest night of the season and the area’s first freeze, residents in neighborhoods starting with Westpoint and heading all the way west into Parker County were thrown into a power outage.

Apparently a vehicle ran into a transformer pole near the 7-11 on the corner of White Settlement Road and Academy Drive knocking out electricity to homes and businesses. Those residents were without power for about 3 or 4 hours until work crews were able to get the transformer back into working condition about 10:30 p.m.
