Police say a man was out of a jail for just a day before firing on patrons at a Stockyards area bar and killing a bystander.

Authorities say 30-year-old Mark Anthony Pacheco of Lake Worth was arrested Friday at a relative’s home. He’s being held at the Tarrant County jail on a murder charge, with bail set at $150,000.

Pacheco is accused of firing a weapon during an altercation near the North Side Outlaws bar, 115 N.W. 25th St. on Feb. 16. Three men were wounded and are in local hospitals. Sylvia Salazar, 56, was killed by a stray bullet. Salazar, a grandmother, was not involved in the dispute. Pacheco also was shot according to police.

Jail records show that Pacheco had been out of jail only one day when the shooting occurred. He was arrested on Feb. 14 on a warrant issued in Nueces County and was released from jail Feb. 15, said police.
