Lake Worth boat ramps remain closed

Lake worth ramp 1

Last week, Fort Worth closed the boat ramps at Lake Worth because of projections the lake could reach an elevation of 596 feet. At that elevation, boats’ wakes could cause flooding in some homes and some boat docks could be under water, creating a navigation hazard.
Fort Worth Marshals closed the ramps sometime during the overnight hours, giving anyone on the water the chance to get their boats out.
The last time the boat ramps were closed for this reason was in June 2007.
Residents around the lake that have boats are being asked to keep the boats off the water while the boat ramps are closed.
