Traditionally held the first Tuesday in October, National Night Out gives residents the chance to enjoy an evening of activities and the opportunity to get to know their neighbors. The White Settlement Police Department will be hosting a community event in its parking lot that will include a dunk booth, bounce houses and lots of other fun activities for citizens. The event starts at 6 p.m.
Various activities promoting safety and celebrations will be held throughout the community starting in the evening hours Oct. 6; get out to enjoy the fun.
National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime,” is held yearly in October (in Texas) to heighten awareness and strengthen participation in local anti-crime efforts. Traditionally, NNO is an opportunity for residents to meet and get to know neighbors in the community. It is designed to increase crime and drug prevention awareness, and generate support for, and participation in local anticrime efforts. Additionally, it is a time to have fun.
