John Hebert, Current Superintendent of Lake Worth ISD and former White Settlement ISD administrator and Brewer Bear was recently honored at a meeting of students, parents and teachers in Waco, TX by being named a Regional Honorary Member of the FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) Region II. This is the highest honor that FCCLA can bestow upon a person who is not a member of the organization. The recognition took place at the March 4-5 contest held in Waco.
Although Hebert did not give a formal speech in front of the crowd of well over 1,000, he did say he was pleased to have received such a prestigious honor and to see so many students learn so much.
“It is always a special honor to be recognized for your efforts in your support of the students and staff. It is a primary focus in LWISD to engage our students, parents, staff and community in efforts to change lives.
The weekend was a great example in which we had many students compete with 21st century skills that will enable them to change their lives. We also have several that advanced to state competition.”
