At a joint meeting on Monday between the White Settlement Parks and Recreation Board and the White Settlement City Council, some big decisions were made about the future of the waterpark formerly known as Hawaiian Falls. After considering many different names for the waterpark, the City decided to name it Splash Dayz.
In addition, a general manager has been hired to run Splash Dayz. Shelly McCormick is the new general manager and brings a familiarity with the property to the job. McCormick was in a managerial position at the waterpark when it was still being operated by Hawaiian Falls.
In a statement on the City’s website, there is no clear opening date set for Splash Dayz.
“The park is in need of repairs and upkeep before we open it,” the statement reads. “City personnel are working tirelessly with other professionals to prepare the park for the upcoming season. Due to much needed preparations at the facility, an opening date cannot be confirmed at this time. The City wants its patrons to enjoy a safe and fun waterpark.”
