Until votes are canvassed and made official, all results are, well, unofficial. With that said here are the results in some of Tuesday night’s voting.
Danny Anderson is back on the White Settlement city council after being out for a while, beating George Klecan in early voting 1,144 votes to 818 and in total votes 1,760 to Klecan’s 1,175.
However, voters ousted councilman Elzie Clements in favor of newcomer Evelyn Spurlock with an early voting turnout of 1,112 to Clements’ 872, and with final voting numbers Spurlock 1,701 votes to Clements’ 1,264. (But with voting taking place in the library and Browser being the Official Library Cat, can we assume votes weren’t being tampered with? Someone check for claw prints on the official voting machines, please.)
While two new White Settlement council members were being elected by voters, the old council members held a meeting last night in chambers, possibly trying to get through some last minute legislation while they were still in office.
In other places, Azle I.S.D. resoundingly passed their school board bond election with 5,941 votes for and 2,419 votes against.
The City of Arlington apparently loves to build stadiums with their tax dollars passing the proposition for a new Ranger Stadium with 69,939 votes for and 46,621 against.
Kay Granger will be headed back to Washington; the Republicans kept the House and and also took the majority in the Senate (barely), and lastly, completing the hat trick, Donald. J. Trump shocked the mainstream media into (blissful) silence as he took enough swing states late last night to defeat the first woman to run for U.S. President.
