It’s Up, It’s Big, It’s Christmas time in Cowtown

In case you’re counting down, there are 38 days left until Christmas, and in Fort Worth’s Sundance Square, the official start of the holiday season has arrived. A 57-foot Blue Spruce became part of the downtown Fort Worth’s cityscape Monday in preparation for this weekend’s arrival of Santa Claus and the Parade of Lights.
The tree was cut down on Friday and brought to Fort Worth on a flat bed truck before being uprighted in the middle of Sundance Square. The next step is to make the tree show-ready for Saturday’s tree lighting at 6:00 p.m.
Record high temperatures have made it feel more like spring than the holidays in North Texas, but hold on to your hat, a change is coming for the weekend.
