#33 Kinley Ganniger gets fouled by a Chisholm Trail player as she drives the lane for a shot.

A feisty Lady Bear team scratched and clawed to the bitter end as Chisholm Trail sank a shot with less than a second on the clock to win a Class 5A, District 6 game 38-37 at Brewer High School on Tuesday night. The loss puts the Brewer Lady Bears at 8-12 on the year and 0-4 in district. The game became close in the 3rd period when the Lady Bears hit 7 points in a row to tie the score 21-21. Brewer held the lead for most of the 4th period but Chisholm Trail kept themselves in the game with accuracy at the free throw line hitting multiple points  to bring the game within 1 point with 7 seconds left on the clock. A rebound by Chisholm Trail after two missed free throws by Brewer led to the last second shot that gave them the victory, 38-37.
“This one hurts,” said Head Girls Coach Kenny Williams. “ We had some good games over the holidays and started executing better and more efficiently. The chemistry of this team is good and the next step is to close out the game.”
The girls play again Friday, Jan. 6 at Aledo at 6:00 p.m.
