Man shot in robbery of store on Cherry Lane

A man was transported to the hospital after being shot during a robbery at this Quik Sak on Cherry Lane near Brewer Middle School this past Friday night. Police are looking for two black males, one being 5’4”-6” and the other 5’8”-10” tall, thin build.

Police are looking for two men who held up the Quik Sak convenience store located at 898 S. Cherry Lane in White Settlement. The store is located across the street from Brewer Middle School. The call came in at 8:21 p.m. on Friday night.
A customer inside the store at the time of the hold up said the men came in waving a gun and demanding everyone get down on the ground.
The witnesses said when one person wouldn’t get down, there was a struggle for the gun and that customer was shot.
The witness said the two people were wearing hoodies, one black and one grey, and had their faces covered as they came into the store.
“They were pretty fast. I wish the guy would’ve cooperated with them and got on the floor,” said witness Gary Matchett in a news report.
According to White Settlement Police Chief J.P. Bevering, the victim was shot in the neck and is in stable condition. He was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
Police said the video surveillance at the store was not working at the time and detectives are checking with WSISD and other residents to see if video footage is available. If you have any information, please contact the White Settlement Police Department at 817-246-7070.
