WSPD Press Release
Around 8:20 p.m. on January 27, 2017 two masked and armed robbers entered a Quik Sac convenience store on South Cherry Lane in White Settlement, Texas. The two gunmen immediately began demanding money from the clerk, and instructed patrons of the store to get down on the floor.
During the robbery a struggle ensued between one of the gunmen and a customer, identified as Khrystophir Scott. During the altercation, Khrystophir was shot by one of the suspects who both subsequently fled on foot. Khrystophir was transported to the hospital where he later passed away from his injuries.
Police Department detectives didn’t have much to go on. There was no video from the store and the gunmen wore masks. The Police Department canvassed the area, gathering as much video surveillance as they could. After months of tireless investigation from our police officers, detectives, the community and surrounding agencies, detectives made a breakthrough in the case. The White Settlement Police Department is proud to announce that we have been able to bring justice to the family and friends of Khrystophir Scott.
On April 11, 2017 White Settlement detectives arrested and filed a charge of Capital Murder with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office against Burnches Mitchell. Mitchell is a 23 year old male from Garland Texas. Mitchell is currently being held at the Hunt County Jail on a $1,000,000.00 bond. The second person involved in this offense was killed by a store clerk during another robbery attempt that occurred after this incident in Arlington, TX.
